How to Install HP Photosmart 8100 Series Printer Driver on a PC
Step 1: Right-click on the driver file and click on extract to a folder. Basically we need to unzip the driver file.
Step 2: It will create a folder which contains all the driver files.
Step 3: Now, please select the driver file prnhp002.inf
Step 4: Let’s start installing it manually. Click on Start and then click on settings.
Step 5: Click on “Devices”
Step 6: Click on “Printers & Scanners” from the left side pane and then click on “Add a printer or scanner”
Step 7: Click on the link: “The printer that I want isn’t listed”
Step 8: Choose the last option: “Add a local printer” and then click on Next.
Step 9: Now, select the port of your printer – where your printer is connected right now. And then click on Next.
Step 10: Click on Have Disk.
Step 11: Click on browse
Step 12: After clicking on browse, go to the location where you have extrcated the driver files amd then selct the file name: prnhp002.inf, and the click on open.
Step 13: Click on OK

This printer uses inkjet technology for printing. It has two printing modes: Best mode and Normal mode. If you want high-quality prints, use the Best mode. Otherwise, you can use the Normal mode.
This printer uses one tri-color cartridge and one black cartridge. These cartridges can also be refilled easily. One important thing to remember with inkjet printers is that you should print regularly, otherwise the ink in the cartridges may dry up.
The printer has one input tray and one output tray. The input tray is adjustable, so you can also load photo papers of sizes like 4×6 or 5×7 as well.
