How to Install HP DeskJet 2986 Printer Driver in Windows
After download the driver, follow the below given step-by-step guide in order to install this printer properly on your computer.
Step 1: Double-click on the downloaded driver file to execute the installation wizard.
Step 2: Please wait it is extracting the drivers.
Step 3: Please wait while it is loading up the installer
Step 4: Click on continue to accept the license term and agreement.
Step 5: Opt “Yes” or “No” to share the software data to HP. If you will go with “Yes”, it will share the software data to HP server for re opt “No”, then it no going to share any data to HP. I will go with “Yes”.
Step 6: Now, it is searching for the printer. So please make sure the printer should be connected to the computer through USB or WiFi and the printer should be turned ON.
Step 7: Please click on continue to get more specific connectivity option.
Step 8: Select preferred connection type and click on continue.
Step 9: Now, please connect the USB cable of your printer to the computer and then click on continue and finish to complete the installation process. That’s it, the printer will be installed successfully.

The DeskJet 2986 printer comes under “Ink Advantage“ series printer by HP. It is an ink efficient printer. The printer has a tiny LCD display on the top of the printer which can help you to navigate printer settings easily. There is no auto-duplex printing feature, you will have to do it manually. The print speed of this printer is up to 20 PPM with 1200 DPI resolution. The copy speed is a little low at 6 cpm with a resolution of 300 dpi. The power consumption of this printer is very low at 2.50 watts while printing.
It has one input tray that can hold 60 pages and has an output tray that can also hold 25 pages at a time. This printer supports plain and photo A4, A5, A6 papers.
There are two connectivity options: USB and WiFi – both are quite stable. The good thing about its wireless connectivity is that it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. In order to set up this printer on a mobile (Android/iPhone), you will have to install HP’s app on your mobile and then setup it in few clicks.
