Method 1: Install HP Laserjet 1000 using its driver CD/DVD

Method 1 Requirements:
  1. Need one CD/DVD Drive installed on your computer.
  2. Need a Software/Driver CD Disk for HP Laserjet 1000, which came with the printer.
  3. Need a USB cable that will connect your printer to the computer. It came with the printer.

Follow these steps to install HP Laserjet 1000 printer with CD/DVD Drive.
  1. Turn it on your computer, where you need to install the printer on it.
  2. Turn it on the printer as well.
  3. Keep unplug the HP Laserjet 1000 printer USB cable (Do not plug it in until it prompts).
  4. Insert HP Laserjet 1000 CD disk into the CD/DVD drive on your computer, run the setup wizard of the CD, and follow their instructions to install it.

    • You are right, there is no drivers available for windows 7 because windows 7 will take the drivers when you are updating your windows. So please follow my steps to install HP LaserJet 1000 Driver in windows 7.

      Step1: Unplug all the printers from USB connection.
      Step2: Uninstall all the printers drivers from your computer.
      Step3: Stop the print Spooler Service.
      Step4: Rename the folder “w32x86” to “w32x86.old” from this location –> “C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86”
      Step5: Rename the folder “x64” to “x64.old” from this location –> “C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64”
      step6: Now plug only “HP LaserJet 1000” printer.
      Step7: Do windows update.
      Click on start button –> then click on control panel –> Click on System Security –> then click on Windows Update –> then click on Check for updates. then install all the updates. Your printer driver will install automatically.

        • You can easily download the Hp OfficeJet 6700 drivers from direct HP website. click on that link to download drivers: support.hp.com. Anyway, you don’t need to uninstall all the drivers just uninstall 1000 driver and then re-install it the latest driver which is available on support.hp.com

        • Yes, windows 8 64bit will grab the driver when you update your windows. (Note: Your printer should be ON and connected with USB cable with the computer.)

    • Yes, here is the solution please follow those as my way.
      Step1: Uninstall HP LaserJet 1000 Driver from control panel.
      Step2: Please put your print spooler service turn off.
      Step3: And then rename two folders in this location c:\window\system32\spool\drivers please rename the folder named as “w32x86” to “w32x86.old”, and rename one more folder “x64” to “x64.old”.
      That’s it. Now install the printer driver which is available on this page for windows 8.

    • Windows 8 will update the drivers automatically. so please update your windows. Go to control panel and then choose “Windows update option”

    • No, need to download drivers for windows 7, because windows 7 drivers will update when you update your windows. So please update your windows first, drivers will install automatically.
